My Parents Don't Like My Boyfriend. Help..

I’ve known my boyfriend for over a year & we’ve been going out for almost two months. My parents said they don’t like him because he’s three years older than me, which I don’t think is a big age difference. They’ve never met him & they’re judging him based on this one thing. How can I get them to change their minds & at least meet him.? P.S.. I really like him & I don’t want us to have to break up because of a three year difference..

Have you tried convincing your parents to at least meet him? Start by telling then that you understand them (avoid getting into who is right or wrong conversation), if you side with them and reassure them that you understand that they are worried about the age difference (afterall they care about you and only want the best for you) then maybe they will be wiling to hear you out and met him. Show them that both you and your boyfriend understand why this could be a problem but then explain to them why you both think it isn’t one. Tell them how you met and why you want to be together. Ask your boyfriend to come talk to them and ask him to talk about how he feels about you and how he respects them very much and would love for them to accept him. You can even suggest that you fallow certain rules that would be fair like having to ask for permission before going out on a date, having family suppers or outings together so they can get to know him, never going out pas certain hours. As you can guess they are most worried about him manipulating you or pressuring you into sex so this is the touchy subject. This is what you’ll have to prove that you are mature enough and that he will not pressure you into things. Whatever you agree with your parents, you always do what you agreed and never let their trust be broken.
