Why does my cat whine a lot?

my cat wines a lot a night why is that

Answer #1

I have a ragdoll cat and she whines a lot too! Its only when shes in a room alone or when her and I are going to bed and its dark she whines really loud until I call her name, then she gets on the bed and continues to do it until I start petting her. I dont get it either. She also whines as soon as I leave my house. My sister says she will do it for hours after I leave. Id like to know why shes doing it.

Answer #2

is it a boy or girl cat? has it been neutured? is it lonely or wanting your attention?

I have 2 cats and sometimes I have no idea why they call out.

Answer #3

Hello how old is your cat and what breed? It is most likely a female and she is most likely in heat. If your cat is a female and around 6 mos of age this is most likely your problem.

You need to get her nutered or she will get out and she will find a male. The breast cancer thing mentioned above I have never heard of. But the kitten factor is a for sure.

If your cat is a male. I would say there is a female around that is in heat and this will call the same reaction. If this is the case you should hear another cat meowing some where.
