My cat has been in labor for over 10 hours

Hey there thanks for responding, no she has’nt been pushing the whole time but started to go in to what I believed to be labor and pushed for about 30 to 45 mins in 15 min to 20 min increments then stoped and has’nt done much since then and that was about 10 to 123 hours ago.should I continue to wait/ and she never took to the birthing place I made for her, could this be part of the problem?

Answer #1

There’s no movement at all? Was there any movement previously?

Answer #2

You should have kittens by now.

Answer #3

She started pushing 10 hours ago and stopped? Is that what you’re saying?

If so, that’s not good. Are you sure she was actually pushing?

Has she been licking her bottom? Has the mucous plug come out?

Don’t worry about the birthing place right now - just make sure that wherever she is, it’s clean and safe…you can set her up later. Make sure you don’t interfere, because a cat will actually delay labour if you do…just sit back and let her do what she needs to.

Answer #4

sorry this is my first time with a cat :) but yes, yesterday while she was pushing and licking something came out and she ate it before I could get a good look so I believe that was the mucous plug and I dont believe I did anything to interfere but she wanted to be by my side the whole time yesterday, till I had to be at work . she likes for me to rub her belly and I noticed that it is every hot and tight and theres no movement form the kitten and this is also her first litter
