How to get motivated to run?

So i’m planning to join for another run this July, probably 10k. I couldn’t run the whole way during the 8k (referring to my last question), but i’ll feel more accomplished if dont stop at least at 5km. I really want to start training again but i’ve been so so so busy lately, and i have been falling alseep at the most random places because i’ve been feeling so tired. At one point i actually fell asleep in my kitchen while doing homework lol.

Anyway, how can i push myself to run? Other than looking at pictures of skinny/ fit models, thinking how good it feels after the run, imagining a really hot guy waiting at the end of the run, etc. Because i usually just tell myself “but sleep feels better” or “i need to catch up on some reading” and things like that.

Well, school work is important and if you don’t get enough sleep, you will not have the energy to run. Those two should come before running. A good motivator is music. When I listen to upbeat music I can get in the mood for just about anything. You can always try that. Hope this helped <3(:

Well decide what you are running for…if you have a reason a goal to achieve then it will be worth it to you! Now plan a regime…either get up an hour earlier or loose an hour of sleep…but get that 30-60 mins of your running as a routine. If you are just doing it to loose weight…I would get a better hobby something more fun…yes my friends I mean ZUMBA…lmfao…It will boost your energy, get you motivated, it will give you those curves, help you loose the few lbs you so want to get rid of before summer & is so much more fun them running. (easier on the knees too) Hell you wont want to find all sorts of excuses to not do it… So find out why you want to run this marathon unless you have some other motive for doing it like a good cause!

Good luck

Answer #4

Listen to goo music, bring some water. Make sure you are well rested. Bring a friend to jog with. Constantly remind yourself that you will be healthier, tone your body, get b etter sleep and overall become a healthier person.

Answer #5

Trust me, when you try Zumba you’ll be saying WHAT to jump rope…Bubye…those that have tried it swear by it…i am one of them! :)
If it is for a charity then it is a whole new ball game…that is for a great cause!

I know I always think about it too, thinking ehh I’m too tired or aomething else is more important, I look at photos too and also you gotta have some good music to listen too. I love just listening to techno upbeat or even some rap that will get me in the mood to run. Some music even gets me angry where I’ll wanna run to get my aggression out. It’s a good stress releaver. I also like going out night when its dark out and I can see the stars and its cooler and not everyone is watching you.

Although running at night (with less people and the starts) sound really nice, it’s quite dangerous. It incresses the change of getting attacked, and with less people around, less people to help.

I suggest early morning (lots of people) and more used roads. Evenings are good too, but the second it gets late, head back.

A simple trick for making sure you don’t get attacked is to make sure your music isn’t too loud. Put in BOTH earbuds (even if you just use one) and snap your fingers softly. If you can’t hear it clearly, turn it down.
