Middle age should be the mid point of the current life expectancy. The current average life expectancy is 78 years so the mid point is 39.

Logically middle age would be the middle third of our lives. That would make young age to be until 27, middle age 27-53, and old age to be from 53 until our demise. We aren’t that logical though; probably because someone 27 wouldn’t like to be reminded that about 1/3 of their life is over. We define middle age when the signs of aging begin to occur like wrinkles, thinning or gray hair and accumulating chronic health problems. Some might think of middle age being from 35-55 while others might consider it to be 40-60.

For me middle age is 2o and I’m almost there -_- xD
