lower back pain on the hip

I have something poking out on the left side of my hip/lower back . Feels like a dimes size ball growning on my bone . Im in pain about three days a week .when I setting for a long time could be longer. My Doctor told me it was my S I joint . -Wrong. I went along with him just to get out of his office. He gave me a shot that hurt . And to see him every mth. “ That should help” he said. The shot has not helpped at all . Dose anyone have an answer . Thank you .

Not to freak you out but I was watching mystery diagnosis and this one case was when this one this girl’s muscle turned into bone. It’s called fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva (FOP). It’s also known as “stone man’s syndrome” It’s genetic and starts when you are a little kid. I’m not saying this is what you have but it is really rare and most doctors don’t know about it. Maybe you should bring it up to your doctor because they always over look something.
