How long does a smoker live for?

Answer #1

Shorter than he would if he quit smoking!

Answer #2

Agreed, but the actual number of years can vary incredibly … perhaps one lives to be 80, but another dies at the age of 30 … it sneaks up on you and it’s a huge gamble.

Answer #3

Answer #4

Answer #5

Most of them die young, but some are very old.

This old man here… http://funadvice.com/r/15n6hls4s51 …a former politician in my country is born 1918, smokes like a bonfire with wet leaves in it, and is still alive.

Here, however is a list of people who died of lung cancer at young age after smoking a lot… http://funadvice.com/r/bp81gqph6b0 The youngest man on the list was 45, some others were in their 50s some were older.

Answer #6

Depends on the health of that person. Every smoker is different, there are chain smokers, smokers who smoke more than 2 packs a day and there are people who smoke 2-3 cigarettes per day. Besides a smoker can sometimes out live a non smoker or someone who has never smoked before. Like i said it all depends on your health.

Answer #7

A tobaco smoker can live into thier early hundreds, most dont, just like most non smokers dont. Some people can smoke a lot ,every day from a young age and still live to say 100.The human lung is amazing,it has had 100`s of thousands of years of bonfire smoke to evolve our lungs to with stand ,a battering….but for some in this seen as save any gene culture we live in,are suseptable to early death through smoking Tobaco. Some people will die early because of red meat. Live the life you Love and Love the life you live :)

Answer #8

On the average smokers die younger than non-smokers.

Based on statistics each cigarette would be expected to shorten your life by 11 minutes. However, watching TV for an hour is estimated to shorten your life by 22 minutes.

I suppose chain smoking 8 cigarettes while watching TV for an hour would cost you over an hour and a half of life.

Answer #9

The lungs are amazing, shame about the skin…an old smoker usually looks OLD.

Answer #10

I have got to stop talking to myself lol.

Answer #11

Answer #12

I think it depends on the person. My grandfather had asbestos in his lungs because he built tires at Firestone for 30 years and back in the day asbestos was used in making them. He also smoked like a chimney but he lived to be 91.

Answer #13

Longer you mean? Lol
