How long does a person have to live once they’ve been diagnosed with COPD? (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease)

She’s been a smoker for at least 20 years and has had severe asthma since she was born…

I’m worried because they say it only gets worse and I wanted to know how long

My mother lived for 20 some years after being diagnosed with COPD…she didn’t quit smoking until 10 years before her death.
