I'm not allowed to do anything

im 18 and my parents are still treating me like im 10 im not alowd 2 go here im not alowed to go there I better not be doin this that and the next thing and its doin my head in my brother who is older than me does the same things and hes alowed I have tried talking to them but the just wont listen they say they don’t want me to get hurt wich is fair enuff but let me learn from my own mistakes can anyone gv me some advise please xx

have a talk with them and tell them that you know that the care but the really have to let you live your own life

Well, If you live under their roof… you kind of HAVE to do what they say!! But never the less … tell them your feelings and how you think… Explain to them that even though you are young and you live in their house you still feel you have a right to make your own decisions…

my parents were like that when I was younger. they gave me the rules and, I respected em. but when I thought it was out of bounds, I did wht I wanted. if your parents are being unreasonable, let them know you feel that way. if you don’t experience things now, when they decide to “set you free” it’ll be like throwing you to the wolves in a sense. it might help to bribe em a bit as well. do some extra chores around the house. let them see some kind of initiative. you learn from experience, so if they don’t let you get that early, you’ll get caught off guard w. things later on, at times. butter em up. play the game w. them. then point out all the things you do, and how you think its unfair that you do [fill in blank] but can’t get a bit of free time to yourself.
