I miss my dog that I've had from birth

no.. not the dogs birth… he was 3 weeks older than me…

yeah.

my birth.

he was a pure breed Dalmation named Shakespeare (Shakes for short)

I loved that dog…

but when was 10.. he was 10 too… and was starting to get tints in his eyes.. and thus was going blind.

when I was 11… he was getting tumors on his belly… mum and dad says it was time to let him go… but I couldnt.

you cant just let someone uve known your whole life just die. and I knew he was in pain.. but I just couldnt let him go…

when I was 12, his ear was getting a tumor… his entire ear… just hard as a rock. at first we thought it was pus. so my dad tried to pop it with a needle… it didnt hurt him, and nothing came out. tumor.

13, his other ear was shriveling up too… and I started to realize I needed to let my brother go.

he couldnt hold his own waste anymore. and I knew we was suffering… but when I looked into this old dog eyes. I knew he loved me.

my parents thought it would be easier when I was at school… so in 8th grade that morning before I left. I told him I loved him, and hugged him and kissed him goodbye and told him id always miss him… and he looked at me. and his eyes told me he was ready to go and knew he was going to die.

to this day I miss that dog… and im almost 15.

before they let him go, they took off his collar and gave it to me… and I keep it with me in a box…

man… even writing all this out has brought tears to my eyes… just thinking about it makes me sad… I just hope he knows I miss him.

do you think ill ever get over him?

is this just a stupid story and did I just waste your time? im sorry…

did you ever lose a pet like this?

You will miss him and think about him for a long time! I had a chihuahua named paco I had him 10 years and he was hit by a car :( I will never get over that!

Answer #3

I did the same thing with my cat… I had to let her go when I was just 8. I keep her collar on a bear that I call ashley bear. you should get something like this toput his collar on to remember him by.

aww good luck!

Ou will never forget YOUR BEST FRIEND AND WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO ? IT DOES GET EASIER THOUGH BUT YOU ALWAYS FEEL A LITTLE SAD WHEN YOU THINK ABOUT THEM . MAYBE YOU SHOULD CONSIDER GIVING A HOME TO A RESCUE DOG WHO REALLY NEEDS SOMEONE TO LOOK OUT FOR THEM AND YOU SOUND LIKE JUST THE PERSON .

My dog I had from birth died now two years ago, a Gordon Setter called Boston, Bobo for short, I cried, My Dad put her down, I got sent to my Grandma and Grandad’s house whilst he did it, I cried there, my Grandma rocked me back and forth, hugged me and I wailed. It hurts but you know it’s the best thing for them, I’ve now got a lively pup a cocker spaniel called Trudy, and I guess you will get over him but you’ll look back in a few years and think that you still miss him but u’ll have a new pet to love and care for…Boston I’ll never forget her, but the day we put her down, when she was in my back garden, she sniffed and pawed at the grass like she knew she was dying…sniff it still hurts…bad. but now I’ve got Trudy.
