do dogs have after birth after having puppies and if so how long after the last puppy? thanks
Yeah I had to help her break the sacks she is doing good and seams to be taking care of all 12 puppies. We did loose 1 it was still born :>( This is her first and last litter. lol What a long day she was in labor for 6.5 hrs. Thanks for your responce
no they dont, the puppies are born in their sacks and the mother is supposed to break them out and then usually eats the afterbirth. My dog didnt open her pups sacks so we had to do it so they wouldnt suffocate, so make sure you keep an eye on her incase she doesnt have the mothering instinct like my girl :P
goodness! my girl had a very short birth, she had 8 puppies within half an hour! I hoep your girl and her puppies do well :)
