I feel mistreated by my parents, how do I leave?

Ya so I really don’t wanna live w/ my parents anymore because I will randomly get yelled at on usually a daily basis and they take there anger out on me and its annoying and when I was younger my mom slammed me against a wall and tried to choke me. I am 16 almost 17 years old and a junior in high school. I really don’t want to move to another town I just want to live in a different house with nicer people. I do not know if I should call the police or social services. Can someone please give me a recommendation of what to do so I can live somewhere else with people that will treat me nicer

it depends on if you can trust your other family or not, im in the same situation as you and I want to leave, I found a family that will take me in so now there helping me find a way where I can divorce my parents and live with them…so I suggest you find someone who can take you in and have them help you

well it sounds like your parents are kind of abusing you. I would say talk to a relative youre really close with and can trust and move in with them.

You can’t just move out…then the police will look for you and take you back home when you’re found…you would be called a runaway.

Call the police and tell them what is happening. But you should know that there has to be a reason for you to be removed from your parents house…not just them yelling at you. You would also be put into foster care…you can’t pick who you want to live with.

im sorry that sounds so familiar. there is absolutely nothing you can do unless you have a relative or a friend that your parents approve of. if not, legally they OWN you, and if you dont listen, then the COURTS will own you. sorry. just remember nobody has the right to put their hands on you EVER. it’s bad parenting. nevertheless, if your mom only sorta kinda choked you a while ago, that’s not going to be enough for the police to take your folks away… sorry…
