How to make a pig cooker from a 275 gallon drum ?
I HAVE 275 GOLLON DRUM , AND WANT TO MAKE PIG ROASTER FROM IT , WITH A ELECTRIC ROTISERY
cut it in half lengthwise (of course after cleaning it) put a heavy duty piano hinge to connect the 2 halves- make a framework so it will have something to sit on up off of the ground and you should have your pig cooker. you should add some breathing holes on the ends that can be opened or closed by a sliding little door. add a rack inside and you should be done.
depending on how immaculate you want it you could add a gas burner underneath the rack with a grease deflector to protect the flame from the hog drippings.
you can mount the electric rotisserie on the end of the lower half and have the bearing on the other side- should work nicely.
