How does a magnetic levitation train?

How does a magnetic levitation train?

Answer #1

Magnetic trains are based on the repelling effect of two different objects with the same magnetic polarity. The rail is negatively charged, which repels the negatively charged train. The train is held in place by guides so that it glides in a controlled, frictionless hover.

Answer #2

Just to append to this, air resistance/friction can also be a big factor for maglev trains. They have to design them so they do literally fly off the rails.
