How can I make myself stronger for a backhandspring?

I need to get a backhandspring by next year, I can do a pretty good one with a spot, but I need to get stronger to do it on my own. I will be going to my schools weight room at least once a week from now on, and I want to know what I can do to make my arms strongers (there as well as at home) for my bhs. Also if you have any tips about what kind of excerises or techniques, whatever kind of thing that I can use to help me with my bhs, I would really appreciate it :) thanks!

Try pullups, if you can’t do that, do a flexed arm hang for 55 seconds a couple times a day =]
