How can I become my birthmothers daughter again since im 18?

I was adopted when I was 5 1/2 weeks old. I want to be my mothers daughter again because I can get more money for college. My birth mother is not married. I am 18. My adoptive mother died when I was 5 years old and my dad got remarried about 3 years ago. My dads wife doesnt pay anything for me and has nothing to do with me financially. My dad pays for everything. How can I get it to where I can be my moms daughter or claim myself as independent?

Answer #1

Call and ask a lawyer about it. He/ she will be able to answer any questions you may have. I know a lot of these things vary by state, so I’d say that’s your best bet. Most of them will talk to you on the phone for free as long as it doesn’t take too long.
