How can I get rid of ingrown hairs?

How do you get ingrown hairs to go away fast? Why do I keep getting them? Do you know how to prevent them ?

Dear ilovemichael55, It depends on where your getting them and if they are caused by shaving. Do not use alcohol on it…that will make them worse. Do not pluck them out that will make it come back. If you have one just gently open the surface and lift the hair releasing it. Then let it alone till the swelling and redness leaves. Exfoliating (removing the upper layers of dead skin) is indispensable to manage ingrown hairs. Daily use of a gentle face scrub with glycolic and salicylic acid is particularly effective. I get ingrown hairs often, on my neck and face. I have tried just about everything, and athough those bumps are hard to eliminate, I have found that Beauty 4 Ashes Hair Bump Solution..they call it HBD Cleanser and Solution works to control them and limits my scarring. It is all natural..so no acids..but it does have tea tree, neem, and white willow bark (which is the basis for salylcic acid)
