How big hard drive do I need?

Answer #1

In general hard disks are so cheap now that there is little reason to get a small one.

You can get a 250 GB 7200 RPM hard disk for about $80. Unless you are doing a lot of desktop video this is probably bigger than you need.

The first “big” hard drive I ever purchased was a 700 MB SCSI (MB not GB) hard disk for $1,500 in 1990. It is amazing how cheap storage is now. The drive I mentioned above is 350 times larger for 1/18 the price. Ain’t technology great?
