High Resting Heart Rate

I have a problem where at rest my heart rate runs me 86 all the way up to 120. I just joined a fitness club and over 3 days, my average resting heart rate was 92. I figure this is pretty good, but they are concerned about it. I was given the assignment to look up about it. The trainers at the gym were concerned due to the fact that with how high it is, it makes my target heart rate just about 150. I need to know if anyone has any suggestions.

I know its abit blunt but, are you overweight? ( i dont care about bmi, just do you think you are?)

That does sound quite high though assuming your reasonably fit, i dont know how they are mesuring it but if youve only just joined your nerves could be pushing it up.

Just checked my pulse while im sat at this comp, and its 92, im not that fit but tbh im not resting. Its quite difficult to take a resting pulse. I really wouldnt worry about it too much, as you train it will go down.
