What do you think should happen to people who starve their children to the point its fatal?

Answer #1

The same thing that should happen to anyone who takes someones life.

Answer #2

I think people that do that shud have the same punishment, starvation

Answer #3

The children should definitely be removed from their care, for one. I also think that the people should be changed with attempted m urder, since purposely doing that to a fatal point is something I’d consider attempting to kill them. I also think that the people should not be allowed to have any children in their custody in the future at any point. If they have any other children, regardless of whether or not they’re fine, they should also be removed from the parents’ care. I also think that prison time is suitable.

Answer #4

That’s wat I’m sayin they have allready starved to death, wat shud happen to them

Answer #5

Prison. It’s m urder.

Answer #6

If proven true, then they deserve being in prison without food!!!

Answer #7

On the contrary. If proven true, then they deserve being in prison and given their proper human rights - including adequate food.

Answer #8

Y shud they have adequate rights when they didn’t give adequate rights to the innocent children?

Answer #9

but isnt taking away the basic human rights kind of hypocritical, considering you are punishing them for the same thing? It makes the punisher just as bad as the person being punished.

Answer #10

Yes I know its the same, I think if they had laws in place that if you do something horrific to someone the same will be done to u, that wud cut down these types of things

Answer #11

That kind of punishment will not make us as bad as they are. We punish them for reasons. they do it sometimes only for fun.

Answer #12

Although in some cases its not vindictive at all, but from lack of knowledge. My boyfriend studied a law case where the parents were strict vegans and didnt realise their child wasnt getting adequate nutrition. The child died, and they were charged, as they should have been, but they didnt do it for fun, and they shouldnt be subjected to a cruel punishment.

Answer #13

Yep I don’t believe its any differant than the d*ath penalty, u do a horrific crime in the states and u get the chair or leathal injection, I don’t believeing starveing them wud be any differant

Answer #14

This site prides itself on upholding the law. I am amazed that any suggestion that Criminals should be imprisoned and then deprived of their internationally agreed human rights ….. ( which include a right to adequate food ) ….. have not been moderated off the board.

People with medieval views deserve condemnation in my opinion.

Answer #15

But it doesnt cut down on these types of things. Capital punishment has not been shown to be any kind of deterrent. I’ve always said this of capital punishment, I understand the urge. But lets not pretend it is anything more than a desire for revenge. And really how does that make us any better than them? We can tout all sorts of self-righteous anger, but at the end of the day, the difference between people who commit these acts and people who dont is not that they commit the act on people who dont deserve it, but that those who dont are able to treat everyone with dignity, whether they deserve it or not.

Answer #16

Now lack of knowlege I wud may consider a little differantly, but its the parents duty to make sure thr children r healthy in every way, we becomeing vegan they shud have consulted a doc to find the pros and cons of the children bn vegan, and what they cud do to help them keep thr children vegan but also healthy

Answer #17

An eye for an eye will make the whole world go blind.

Answer #18

Or people wud decide to do the right thing so they can keep both thr eyes, what’s so wrong with doin the right thing in the first place?

Answer #19

I myself personally, can forgive criminals and can get along with the modern society and the country laws for any kinds of criminals, But sorry to tell that I can never forgive those who do any harm to children, including letting kids to starve while they can prevent it. Children are so deffendless and dependent on the adults. I can not find any word in any dictionary to name a mother, adults or parents who let the children starve… even till death.

Answer #20

I think they should go to prison for life…for mur.der IF it was done of purpose, or because they simply didn’t care.

If it was not intentional, perhaps they should not be allowed to have kids in their care anymore?

Answer #21

Two wrongs don’t make a right.

Answer #22

To be honest, I guess there really wouldn’t be any way for it to be excused. I mean, there could be a situation where the parent loves their child, and isn’t trying to starve them…but just doesn’t have the money to feed her children. BUT, even then they could prevent it by getting help, or giving their child to someone who could afford to take care of them.

Answer #23

No but if people new the consequeses b4 they commit the crme maybe they wud be less lickly to do the crme in the first place, I’m all for prevention

Answer #24

LOL! “if people new the consequeses b4 they commit the crme maybe they wud be less lickly to do the crme in the first place”…People already know the consequences before they do the crimes…yet they still do them! People know, if they rob a bank…they are going to prison. Yet, they STILL do it. What are you talking about?

Answer #25

Waht if the rules where changed a bit say the robber doesn’t go tojI’ll but they get a hand or something like that cut off? Prson is much to easy for criminals I think

Answer #26

Imlonely. Laws used to be like that. They changed for a reason.

Answer #27

Yes I know but they did have less crimes commited because people thought of the bad consequences

Answer #28

May I ask - was this question designed to give you an answer, or simply to be inflammatory?

Answer #29

face palm

Answer #30

Yes designed to get an answer I don’t care to much for contravercy, I’m sorry if it doenst seem that way

Answer #31

Okay. Provide adequate proof to back that up and I’ll consider your stance.

Answer #32

The same convictions as Child abuse, M*urder, Neglect etc.

Answer #33

the hell beat out of them and starved and prison with out parole.

Answer #34

Death penalty, an eye for a eye, I agree with you sri_setiyowati.
