Grandparents rights
I have a seventeen year old daughter who had a baby. It is apparent the baby is not being taken care of properly as she lives with boyfriend and his family. Now I know I can make her come home, but my questions is how can we some how get some kind of custody, guardianship something so that we to have say so over this baby. We live in texas. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
take this to the professionals . . lawyer court
What indications do you have that the child is not being taken care of properly is the question I have to ask first? Is she really not taking care of the baby properly? Does the baby not eat? Do the parents do drugs? What is your reasoning behind this?
Honestly, it’s going to be very hard to get the child taken away from the mother unless you have solid evidence that they are doing something that could harm or endanger the child. If they aren’t - then I dont know why you would be trying to take her baby away from her anyways. She may do things differently from you - but that does not mean her baby is not being taken care of properly.
The only reason I could think of as to why her child should be taken away is drugs or physical or emotional abuse. Are any of these a problem? Is so - then you can always take her to court and the judge will assess the situation.
I would consult your Lawyer for possible options - that young one is the priority…Take care !!
