Good candidate for emancipation?

Well I want to get an emancipation but I don’t know if I have a sufficient reason. Well I want to go to college at the end of this year but my parents are saying no because I am only a junior this year. I have had problems with my step father and CPS has been called twice. Both times they said that everything is fine and left. Now I have got bruises on the rare occasions that we get in to physical fights normally because I start being mouthy and he grabs me. I have never reported the bruises though. I feel like I can live on my own and my boyfriend who is in college agrees to help support me. I have just gotten a job here and am soon to be 16. I wouldn’t stay here if I got emancipated, I would go to MA. Please help me and tell me if I am a good candidate or if I am not. If I forgot anything please tell me and I will repost ASAP then please come back and help. Thanks a ton. -Kelsey

Answer #1

To be emancipated you need to prove that your parents are unfit to live with.

You need to show proof of how you will take care of yourself (not your boyfriend taking care of you).

You need to show proof of how you can manage your own money.

You would need to find a place to live and work.

The first thing you need to do is to show the bruises.

Good luck

Answer #2

The bruises you have do not constitute abuse. Put bluntly: you are not a candidate for emancipation
