What can I do for my GCSE art final piece?

It has to be coastally based and be in the style of one of these artists - Mick Dean or Andy hughes - can anyone help me?

Answer #1

Andy Hughes has a Photographic Series entitled ‘ Dominant Wave Theory ‘. . You could do a series of sunset seascape photographs with some of your friends and/or relations waving to you (the unseen photographer) forming a dark silhouette against the skyline. . You could call the Series ‘ Dominant Wave Practice ‘. . The image below is taken from Andy Hughes’s .’ Dominant Wave Theory ‘ series . ( which can be seen at http://funadvice.com/r/14rhgedr8o9 ) .

  • the original is 24 inches x 24 inches. .
Answer #2

Alternatively, if you fancy doing a painting in the style of Mick Dean: He is very concerned by the effects of coastal erosion, and is currently focusing his attention on rusting iron (particularly anchors).
. See the artist’s statement at: . http://funadvice.com/r/bgjfe95nimp . Extending the scope beyond the scope of an anchor, you could do a painting of the rusting hull of a beached shipwreck. . The picture below is not actually by Mick Dean, but it has some similarities of style and subject matter. . The image is copied from the website at . http://funadvice.com/r/14rhhdmv88r .
