How can I help my best friend who is extremely depressed, but hides it and refuses to talk to someone about it?

:( I’m really worried about him, but I don’t know how I can help?

I guess you can tell an adult to help her? He is not going to do it on his own, and you want to best for him, fo tell an adult, like a school councelor, his perents e.c.t and they will be able to help him. You can ask for it to be kept confidential, and if he is mad at you, you know you did your part to help him, hopefully he will understand that in the long run.

that’s what I had thought of at first, but he tried the councilor at the school, and he hates her. :/ … (so do I she’s kind of a bitch :P) and part of his problem is his dad left him when he was really young, so he has abandonment issues, and doesn’t communicate with his mom….. it all very complicated. :(

Have you tried some hotlines? 630-482-9696- Depression hotline 1800-dont-cut 1800-sui.cide ( don’t count the dot.) http://funadvice.com/r/3kn0j1tfmn The website was helpful for me. You don’t have to be the ones with the problem to call the hotlines, You can call and explain to them this and they can help you out from there. I understand the him not getting along with his school councelor, I use to have some kind of hate for mine at my old school.
