How can I make food taste like it's spoiled?

Trying to dissuade a family member from his insistent cuilinary experimentation which only he likes, leaving the rest of us to either suffer through it or starve. Is there anything one can do to food once it’s been prepared to make it look, smell, or even taste like it’s gone bad early? Thanks!

Answer #1

Just an idea….soak in Vinegar or something else overnight ?

Answer #2

Can you not just tell him that you have a predefined palette and you’re having difficulty adapting to his style of cooking? It would be better than purposely ruining food and wasting it.

Answer #3

We’ve done that, trust me. It’s one of those situation where you’re living alongside a sitocm character come to life, and it’s not funny anymore.

He’s the one with a refined palette, if apparently having no taste buds counts, and trust me, it’s already ruined. As for wasting it, he’s already stockpiled it for years in his freezer; I’ve found plasticware whose label says 2005 on it.

I’ll see what I can’t do… that sounds like it’ll work.
