Why is Firefox so slow?

yeah i got the same prob too. i stopped using firefox use chrome now.

Firefox has an upgrade that is available, They say it will fix the problems with the preceding one has but not all toolbars are compatible yet so I haven’t upgraded yet.

It works ok for me now once I upgraded, but it does and did have it’s slow moments!! Use google chrome, I’ve got it too and seems to cause less lagging :)

GET GOOGLE CHROME!!!!! ITS FASTER!!!! seriously, get it :)

I don’t know but on my computer the fastest internet browsers for me are Firefox & Google Chrome, but Google Chrome is faster than Firefox so try that one instead :)

firefox isnt slow.

clear fox cache and dont leave temp files and cookies for more than a week or so. a clean fox is a happy fox and it only takes 20 seconds to do and even less time to sign back into everything :p

chrome is faster than fox at a few things but firefox woops chromes arse at others but foxy is the faster all rounder so dont tell people chrome is faster than firefox because its untrue.

Yeah its somewhat slow for me, do what matt said. or maybe you just have too many add-ons

maybe you need to clean up your computer with a registry cleaner like okpckit

First question:What operating system are you using?

According to my experience,the problem lies in your Windows registry.Every time you open your browser, a record is logged in the registry. Over time, it will contain loads of Firefox related files and processes. Most of them become redundant and obsolete causing the registry to be congested thus the reason why Firefox is running slow.
