Does odometer work when towing a vehicle?

We are going to be towing our car on a dolly this winter behind our motorhome. Does the odemeter continue to rack up miles? We are hoping not, since we will be traveling 3000 miles and we lease the car.

no it doesn’t. if the front wheels are on the ground, the wheels still turn, making the numbers on the odometer turn. either trailer it, or don’t tow it. Leasing a vehicle is the most expensive thing you can do.

What you could do is get a 300-500 dollar junker and tow that instead.
