Does belly dancing help lose weight?

I’ve recently bought a belly dancing dvd in a bid to get fit, but a friend just told me, she doesnt think it helps at all! Does belly dancing help you get fit, burn calories and tone?

I do belly dancing every day. It’s so much fun that sometimes I forget the dvd is an hour!!. It has helped me lose weight and tone my stomach and butt.

You don’t really need to bye a DVD for belly dancing go to youtube. But over all it does help, at first it is hard because you have to you your caves a lot and your arms but if you keep on doing it, it gets easier. and it is fun

Any sort of exercise will help to lose weight. As a bonus belly dancing can really shape your stomach, abs and thighs. If you belly dance regularly and eat properly you will lose or at very least maintain weight.

OH! Even if you don’t lose weight you could gain muscle and a slimmer appearing figure.

I think it does! My aunt and I are going to take belly dancing classes after mi mom has her baby soo we could get her into shape and still be learning how to belly dance!!! lol

yea it should since it involves your muceles and that cand build up sweat causing to lose weight =D
