Does anybody know if the d-link gamer's lounge router works well?

The old router that we used stopped working when I replace my home computer, so I’d like to know if the d-link gamer’s lounge router works, and if so, does it work well?

The thing is, my old linksys router stopped working after 3 hours on the phone with their tech support guy, he said, and I quote “yep, it’s toast”…didn’t make me happy, so I’m not looking to buy another one from them. So, since I’m in the market, a friend said that the d-link gamer’s lounge one was very good, and it’s a gigabit router, which should be faster than the old one we had.

The D-link gamers lounge works pretty good. I have used it extensivly with World of Warcarft. It is noticible that other services suffer when gamefuel is on. If I am playing and somebody else is using a VPN, sometimes the Encrypted tunnel will collapse.

When you say it is gigabit. it means that it has a gigabit switch built in. You will not notice any difference in internet speed from that. since internet connections are under 10Mbits, and the WAN port on this router is 10/100 NOT gigabit.

Where the gigabit switch will help, is in you local network speed, for example copying files from one computer to another. But all the computers have to also have gigabit ethernet adapters installed for it to work , or else the router will just drop the speed to match the computers network speed.

To play in the game server you need to login from their region. You can use vpn proxies because this is the only way to connect in there. I am using one of the best usa vpn service provider for connecting in the minecraft server. http://funadvice.com/r/15p88qodfhu
