Docter-Directed Diet Plans?

I’m going to the doctor today, just a checkup. I was wondering if I should ask about a diet plan to help me lose 70 or so pounds. If it is directed by my doctor, I feel I will stick to it better. Should I ask my doctor about it?

Answer #1

Thank you!

Answer #2

How should I bring it up?

Answer #3

Yes?

Answer #4

Yeah, the whole point of check-ups is to make sure everything is okay and bring up questions or concerns you have with the doctor. He can help you decide whether you really need to lose the weight or not, and how to do it.

Answer #5

Just be straight with him/her and say “I’ve been feeling a little concerned about my weight lately. I feel I need to lose some weight, I’m not sure if I do, or how much, or how.” And then the dr. will probably ask you some questions maybe about how you’ve been feeling lately, like tired or sluggish or something like that…It’s pretty easy to be open with your dr.
