Who determined that dogs were color blind?

and how did he/she/they figure it out? o.O

Answer #1

I dont know who thought to check :/ but it would have been like scientist people doing like tests on the dogs i guess… I read that if you get three boxes of different colors, and have your dog sitting there when you put a treat into one of them. take him out of the room, change the order. and see if he can find the treat was a way to see if he can see color. buuut i would think he would just sniff it out.

Scientists can see the color receptors in the eyes. They don’t have as many cones as we have, but they do actually see yellow and blue.
