What is a "Patron Saint"?

I’m doing a saint report for confirmation, and I need to know if my saint is a Patron Saint or not. By the way, I’m doing Saint Anthony of the Desert. I don’t know if that helps.

A Patron Saint is a Saint of a certain Nation or place. for example. Saint Andrew is the Saint of Russia,Scotland and Ukraine. Saint George is the Saint of England,Greece,Lithuania,Georgia. Joan of Arc is the Saint of France

A patron saint is a saint who takes care of certain things. For example in scotland we are told that if we lose somthing, if we say a prayer to saint anthony and then give money to charity, he will make sure we find it, it might not be instantaneous but it does work, i’ve tried it several times and it’s worked every signle time.
