After your surgery is over, it is easy to feel like you are finished with your health issues and you just need to hurry up and recover so you can go about your life. Sometimes it is that easy – you rest for a few days then you are on your feet and back to your normal life. The reality is that often the weeks following surgery aren’t that simple or easy. … read it from : http://funadvice.com/r/15uii09urhb

Very slim chance, it will b fine, I am scared to death of dentist and got mine done, surgically removed, I went through it twice, tell them to give u gas

Answer #3

biggest risk comes from the anesthetic, if the dosage isn’t right your heart could stop (that’s why there are specialists on the surgery team) or the unlikely one is the area is still infected and left untreated with antibiotics etc. it could lead to a nerve infection but unless your IQ is under 70 that won’t happen

Answer #4

Humans are very poor at assessing risk. We readily accept real risks every day while we ruminate over minor or theoretical risks elsewhere.

The largest risk in most surgeries is reaction to general anesthetic. A serious reaction to general anesthetic is very unlikely; if you have successfully had general anesthetic in the past than the risk is almost zero. If you are still worried than you can ask for local anesthetic. With local you will be awake during the extractions but you should only feel pressure rather than pain. Given the choice most patients accept the tiny risk of general anesthetic rather than being awake through the procedure.

The main risk of the actual procedure is infection. Bacteria from your mouth and your infected molars can get into your bloodstream and cause infection elsewhere. Your dentist will probably prescribe prophylactic antibiotics before your extractions to prevent this.

While it is possible to die from wisdom tooth extraction most dentists go through their entire career without loosing a patient to it.

I’m lucky that my wisdom teeth did not have to be extracted. I had plenty of room for them and they came in straight so I can keep them.
