What could be causing a mix results when taking pregnancy tests?

My sister has taken 7, and just two of them have been positive.

If any are coming out positive she is pregnant. She most likely hasnt produced enough hcg (pregnant hormone) yet and the test are having a hard time detecting it. However, you cant get a positive without having that hormone in your body, so she is pregnant.

I’m not sure. I think it would be best for her to go to her doctor, and get a blood test. A blood test will show whether she is pregnant or not, without any doubts.

Well, she went to the health department & that one came out negative. So they told her to go back in 2 weeks. But still

The only other thing i can think of is a chemical pregnancy. What is the time lapse in between her taking these test? Did she get positives first and then negatives afterwards? A chemical pregnancy usually goes unnoticed and is thought to just be a period, when its actually a very very early miscarriage. Most women dont even know they had one, the ones who do, tested early and had positives and then got negative test later.
