Do you think canned tuna in oil would be bad for a cat?

I don’t mean a lot, I mean like a spoon full & I drained out the juicy oil, but it’s still in there you know ?

Answer #1

I doubt it. Street cats eat garbage.

Answer #2

Depends on the species of the cat cat’s previous regular food. Veterinarian says that some cats have sensitive stomach and can only eat certain food.

Answer #3

Nope my cat eats that and he loves it.. just remove most of the oil.. they hate it cause they put so much in there lol..

Answer #4

Tuna is not the best idea due to the lack of taurine and high amount of mercury. I guess a tiny bit very seldom won’t be too bad, but its a bad idea to make it an everyday thing.

Answer #5

Too much salt is bad for the cat. (And btw carbs and sugars are bad for them. Cats easily get diabetic when eating food that contains carbs and sugars.)

Fat isn’t bad for the cat unless the cat is overweight. And cats can eat any meat or fish. Don’t feed salty canned tuna to the cat. If you have a brand that is not too salty, then you can give bits of it to the cat.

Answer #6

Be mindful when feeding your cat anything that is not created specifically for cats. Tuna can cause stones to develop in the cat’s digestive tract, and it can create a thiamine deficiency which can results in seizures and the possibility of death. In moderation, tuna won’t cause your cat any great harm, but make sure you restrict the tuna treats to no more than once a week.
