Black bugs on my dog

What are these small round bugs on my dog? They don’t look like fleas, there round black and when popped blood squirts out. my poor dog has scabbs all over her from them.

Answer #1

Usually, if the heads stay on the dog, it’s not that big of a deal. Sometimes they will cause an infection but that is generally not the case. I guess if enough of the tick heads stayed in the dogs skin it could develop a problem, but it shouldn’t hurt it if its just a few. Check with your veterinarian though to be 100% sure. Sam

That dog needs to get to a vet asap. If he doesn’t have flea/tick prevention, he could have a host of diseases. Including the condition anemia, Lyme disease, etc. Get him to a vet!
