Biggest loser: my dad

My dad weighs like 230 or so and he wants to lose weight cause its getting to the point where his tummy hurts from being big. I told him to join a gym but he said its too expencive and has no time. So I tried to go running with him to get him to lose weight but hes always tired. And now my mom lives in an apartment and were welcomed to use the gym there so I told him ill take him but he said hes not motivated enough. Is there any way that I can get him to lose weight thats more fun so he wants to do it? Or any food tricks? Thanks so much guys!

Sorry to be negative but I reckon there is no quick or easy fix, and the only thing stopping him is his state of mind. If someone is not motivated to lose weight, and to be strict about it, then I don’t see what you can do about it. I’m not sure how you would go about changing his mindset. Maybe telling him how important it is for you to see him healthy, or what a good example it would be for you, to see him be self disciplined, stick to something and to see it through. I personally agree there’s no need for the gym, the best way to achieve weight loss is through cardio, ie jogging, and a sensible diet.
