Is it better to take AP classes and pass with a C than to take normal classes and get an A?

Answer #1

This is a good question. I’d say, as long as you aren’t starting to fail halfway through the year, go with the AP classes. You will learn more, and be in a class of concentrated, focused learners. AP also looks better on your cert.

Answer #2

idk but taking AP classes count as college credits so that is always helpful no matter what.

Answer #3

If you are on the breaks of barley passing the advanced classes you’re better off taking regular classes and getting a 4.0 instead of a low 3. something or 2.0

Answer #4

well all my AP classes do not have concentrated, learners they are louder than the normal classes XD

Answer #5

well Ap courses you can get college credit if you pass the exams if you dont pass then you dont get the credit

Answer #6

Oh haha. Well then my argument would be that you will learn more, and have broader, more developed studies in class.

Answer #7

yeah so it is high risk high reward basically. high risk as in harder class high reward college credits lol

Answer #8

Well for me I would take normal I’m not really smart but what’s the point take normal it still gets you through school doesn’t it

Answer #9

Well for me it’s Easyer to take normal than ap if I were you I would just go into normal and get good grades and normal gets you finished high school so it’s easy for you.

Answer #10

as long as you pass them i guess youd be doing ok, but i would think getting an A is better than getting a C, no matter what class you take

Answer #11

You’re better off taking a normal class and keeping your GPA up. A grade on an AP course (at least that’s the way they calculate it at the school I worked with) has a larger impact on your GPA. So if you get a higher grade, it pulls your GPA up by a lot, but get a lower grade and it pulls it down by a lot. While a good grade in an AP class looks impressive, a so so grade doesnt really look that great. Although do be sure that you wont pass with an A.

Answer #12

Go with the AP times a million. Colleges like to see that you challenged yourself. I personally love my ap classes. Plus, at my school, and A in an AP is worth 6 points towards your gpa instead of 4. So, you get a 5 for a B, and a 4 for a C, which is the same you would get for an A in level.

Answer #13

i would talk to you guidance counselor, this is to big of a question to leave up to people on the internet. good luck
