Hey Im 21 and I have a three month old daughter…well lets start with the water breaking…in the movies when you see the water break, the ladies already screamin and looking like all hell has just broken loose…when my water broke I didnt feel anything…just a lot of water and no pain, the pain started after I was in the hospital for about 4 hours…than it got painful…like the women above said it feels like menstral cramps (like in the same areas) but 100 times worse…at first I didnt want the epidural but my blood pressure was really high and the doctor said if I didnt take the epidural to calm my body down I would have a seizure…sooo…I took it…it was less pain but I still felt the contractions…but I fell asleep…when I woke up it was time to have the baby and let me tell you…it hurt…it wasnt the contractions that were hurting…it was like …your vagina stretching..and your lower back from the position that you have to be in…and your legs from holding them up…its really hard work…but after the babys born (which feels like a HUGE relief) your body doesnt hurt at all…than the doctor most likely would give you stitches…and you dont feel them…and this is all I remember from three months ago…I hope I helped you understand a little more about child birth…if you have any other questions and details and stuff feel free to fun mail me…I wont mind answering

Contractions feel like period cramps, just worse (like 100xs worse), which is why I had them give me an epidural. I figured, the baby will be sleepy anyway from being born, so I might as well enjoy having her. That’s why I got the epidural. I could still feel, just not the pain. It was the best thing that ever happened to me, having my daughter. :)

u are mostly druged up lol I was in labor for 15 hours than I found out that I couldnt give birth naturally because his head was in the bad postion so he had to do 911 c section on me I was so mad that he let me go that long before grrr but he was born within the hour he was born :) I couldnt feel a thing the 15 hours until thy gave me my epideral that hurt like a mug… that was only thing that hurt

My first two were completely natural (no epideral). Those two were VERY painful. The pain for me was mostly in my lower back and whole abdomen and my pelvis hurt really bad. Period cramps X100. I had a set of twins by c-section with epideral. I did feel labor pains at first but the epideral took the pain right away. With my last c-section it was the same the epideral took the pain away. So if you want very little pain get an epideral. My epiderals didn’t hurt that bad, they felt like a bee sting for a couple seconds.

Yeah everyone’s tolorance for pain is different. I had one when I was a teen, I was knocked out for it. But with my second one omg! I wanted something for pain but my doc came in and said I had a while to go and left the hospital. Without ordering anything for pain if I wanted it. So I had my second natural, not by choice. The pain is unbearable but after the baby is born you kind of forget all that pain.

I think every woman and every birth is different. I only had one child and the pain, well I cant begin to describe the pain. My mother had five and she said it was very different for every one. I don’t think they all hurt, in fact she described one birth like “opening up like a flower”.. A friend of mine had a four minute labour for both of hers and said it was like shelling peas! So for everyone its different.
