What could it mean if my ankles and area above my ankles are hurting when running?

Just recently, my ankles and the area around them and just above them but at the front and back of my legs are hurting while I’m running, about 3-4km into my run. It doesn’t hurt enough that I have to stop straight away, but it hurts enough that it makes me have to cut my run short like 2km. I’m really hoping it isn’t shin splints :( Can anybody think of anything else it could be?

Careful, it may be your shoes and the way you land on your feet as you run! You may be putting too much pressure on it once your foot hits the ground! Be sure to strech everytime - before and after you do your run. Don’t push yourself to hard when it hurts, cause that’ll just cause a strain! Cause it sounds, that your calfs burn! A burn is a good thing cause it means you’re gaining musscle, but if it’s a sharp burn, slow your run into a jog! :)

Get better!

you may need shock absorber shoes. Try to run on turf and not concrete, you’ll feel the difference, I used to run track myself.
