Aggression from my Dogs.

I have 2 Dogs named Sally and Roxy, they are both females. They are having problems with each other. Whenever I go outside and give Roxy a little pat or so Sally would come and try biting Roxy on the snout or legs. I have to seperate them all the time with my bare hands but for some reason Sally isn’t biting as hard as a real bite, it makes it easier though to grab her snout and pull it away from Roxy’s. When I toed Sally up she probably got annoyed or some, and when I let her off (she likes licking my face) I bent down to give her a pat and she jumped on me trying to bite my face. Luckily I was quick enough to push her off me by pushing her chest. She is a really big dog, a little bigger than Roxy. Since I am living in the Solomon just for a holiday (Sally and Roxy live with my sister in the Solomons) the Dogs are always allowed to go where they want. They are not really actually owned, and no there is no rspca in the Solomons. They walk on the roads and go pracically everywhere. Don’t fuss about that part the Solomon Islands is a very poor country and they were in the middle of a war. So it is not like Sydney where the roads are SO busy that there is no way I dog can cross. In the Solomon Islands the road is not busy, it is a dust road too. The dogs stay at the side too. Anyway can anyone give me any suggestions to fixing my Dog problem?

no yellin no hittin …I also have 2 dogs and the 1 dog does the same things but gentler and not as bad and the only reason is because hes jealous of the other so try to give both of them the same amount of love …and I think its really bad to have your dogs wonderin

  1. YES IT IS WRONG TO YELL AT THEM…They need to understand authority but not through abuse
  2. YES IT IS WRONG TO HIT…that is abuse
  3. YES IT IS WRONG TO LET THEM ROAM
Answer #3

Yelling only promotes excitment…firm, fair…use a low authoritive voice.

Hitting them makes absolutely NO sense to a dog…you have to look at things from the dogs point of view as it’s much easier than trying to get a dog to look at things from a human point of view.

A dog biting another dogs legs is a play move, not a vicious or “aggressive” move…Since these dogs are basically strays, you can assume that they haven’t been trained or worked with in any way…Two collars and two leashes, and a little leash training, so they can walk together WITH YOU, will go a long ways in bonding the two of them. It also makes you their “leader”…which is something all dogs truly want…a leader. If you don’t step up, then one of them will…that’s the nature of dogs.

The dogs need you to yell at them every so often if you havent one. Two don’t think you are doing something bad if you hit them. And three do not let them rome around thats one of the major problems.

Answer #5

Get them spayed. It will decrease their will to fight.

Answer #6

To answer all of your answers, I’m not sure for a few of you if you were talking to me about yelling and hitting, because I don’t do that, that is just cruel. And also I can’t get a Dog Trainer because since the Solomon Islands is poor there is no such thing, plus I cannot give away Sally or Roxy because they are strays and go whereever they want, they are not owned so I ahve no right to gie roXy away, plus there is no rspca, and that no one would want Roxy or Sally because almost everyone has problems trying to feed themselves.

Answer #7

spaying is your best bet. also, you could take them to a trainer who helps get 2 dogs to get along is you have any extra cash. otherwise, I would advise you to get rid of sally or roxy because it doesnt seem safe for roxy to be around a dog that is trying to attack her 24/7. maybe you could give roxy to a new home because sally might be mean to other families too, so you should probably keep her.
