Is it ok to use the Clear Karo Syrup? what is the difference with The Dark Karo Syrup?

Answer #1

!!!my daughter suffered from constipation since she was born and she is now one year old. I finally found something that worked!!! every morning I give her two pieces of rye toast with a little buttter. I take the crust off of it and rip it into small pieces. she loves it and it helps her. also every day I give her a 8 ounce bottle half water and half “graduates mixed fruit juice” these two things put into her diet have been working great. she doesnt sturggle anymore and goes normally finally!!!

When my two year old was younger like in his infant stage he used to get constipated and my pediatrician told me to use Clear Karo Syrup in his bottles and it worked like a charm. My brother used it on his kids too and it helped.

Answer #4

I’d talk to my pediatrician about which is best, honestly…from reading, the only real difference is the number of calories in the two products. However, if the pediatrician recommended the dark karo syrup for your baby’s constipation, I’d strongly recommend you use that one.

Answer #5

Apple juice is the safest bet. Any type of syrup can possibly make a baby sick due to bacteria in it that their little digestive systems can’t get rid of. Just buy the tiny bottles of gerber apple juice. It’s safe for babies, and is made without sugar! Just give an ounce every day until all is worked out! You may also use it to help regulate him/her if they continue to have issues.

Good luck with the little one! Jess

Our pediatrician recommended using either “baby” apple or pear juice to relieve constipation. Our baby is six weeks old and they said not to give her more than one ounce per day.

My 5 week old is having problems pooping on his own. They switch is formula for similiac to enfamil to Nutramigen. He was pooping at least once a day and then he stop and now I have to give him one ounce of oragnic pear juice in the morning and in the evening. And now he poops once a day for me. When do I stop giving him to pear juice? And hope that he’ll poop on his own?
