Has any one on here had the IUD Mirena birth control implant and had problems with it?

I had the mirena iud put in about 3 weeks ago. Them placing it in wasn’t nearly as bad as i thought it would be and i didn’t have much bleeding afterwards. The only problem i am having is when it comes to sex. The strings from the Mirena are poking my husband and he says it can be painful. I called my doctor and he said to give it another month or two to give the strings time to curl up or settle into a safer place….but wth are we supposed to do in the meantime. I feel so bad…like my v@gina is a torture weapon.

My friend has it and she says that she loves it. She has never had a problem with it. the only thing she says that happens is that she get random moody days. but what girl doesnt lol (:

I know of someone who used it and her body eventually rejected it. I never really asked her if she had the type of problems you had? Maybe you can phone your doctor again and ask them if they could adjust the string or something like that?
