Will a parent be called?

If I go to a free clinic near me, to have an STD test done, do I have to give out any of my information to them? I don’t want my parents to know I’m getting one done.

Answer #1

I do not know for sure, but I think the answer is no. In an episode of “George Lopez,” Carmen obtains birth control from a free clinic without her parents’ permission, so I would ascertain that parental permission is not needed at a free clinic.

Answer #2

No, they can’t. Confidentiality agreement.

When you go in there, all they will do is ask your name. You dont have to give them the real one if you dont want to. That’s the way free clinics work. They can’t force you to give them any information and they wont ask for anymore either.

Answer #3

You can also search online for one. Go to google type in free health clinic+ your zip code It should bring it up.

Answer #4

Hospitals and Free clincs are usually seperate. You can look in your local phone book and find one. Look under Health Clinics.

Answer #5

no when it comes to getting treatment for stds it’s one of the few times minors actually have the right to confidentiality (they cant tell your parents)

Answer #6

Free clinics dont even check your ID. You can give a false name if it makes you feel more comfortable.

Answer #7

No they won’t ask that. Let them know you want to maintain your privacy, and they won’t even ask for your phone number.
