Why won't Sims work?

I got Sims 2 games for Christmas one year and I recently bought Sims 3, and I installed them on my laptop and I can’t get cheats to work and I don’t know why. The cheat box doesn’t even pop up, but it works perfectly fine on a regular home computer. Also, some Sims 2 games won’t work on my laptop, like Sims 2 Open for Business. I don’t know why. All it says is that I have the wrong disc in..?Help?

I play sims 3 and use cheats all the time, to open it it’s just Ctrl shift c

not sure why your sims 2 isnt working

okay so I had the same problem. on myne I had to take out the disk. shut my comp. down and leave it off overnite. then turn it on and start up the game. when you play the sims 2 make sure you have the newest disk installed! I hope I helped! :)

Well I don’t know which one would be the newest.. but I’ll definitely try that. and I know how to do cheats, it just doesn’t work. Like I said, I can do it on my computer but not my laptop.
