Why my cats urinate on stovetop??

Please help… I have three cats ..2 female and 1 male . They all have their own litter boxes that I clean every other day. Their ages are 3 , 4, and 6.. All of a sudden about once a week I have been finding cat pee on my stove top elements. I have covers for them and it dosent seem to matter. It is the most horrible smell and I wiould greatly appreciate any advice about what I could do ??? I also have had them all checked for uti infections and that was not the problem.

Answer #1

or buy some like cat spray to repel cats away from certain spots at a pet store!

Answer #2

wow, gross! You should def. go see a vet about that!

Answer #3

My cat used to do this, turned out it was because her box was covered… so it may be as simple as that… so…

Try getting another box (it may be that one cat has taken over another cats box) Make sure box is not in high traffic area (I.e. not where loud noises occur, or where people are a lot) Try uncovered box Try covered box Try another type of litter (only in new box!) Clean out box regularly - like everyday not every other day

Answer #4

My mom’s cat used to do the same thing. I don’t know how she stopped her from doing it, or if she ever even found a way to, but I wanted you to know that you weren’t alone!! :)

Answer #5

I would say take your cats to the Vet’s to have them checked out. One of them may have an infection. Unless you are sure who is doing it. The cat that is doing it is trying to tell you something and may have a urinary infection. Since cats can’t talk, they do odd things to let you know something is wrong.

Answer #6

Is one of your cats drinking and peeing a lot? If so it may be diabetic? That would be the cat I would suspect? You really need to have them checked out.
