Why Just One Hand?

So on the cross country bus, we come up with some odd things to do. We tried touching the tip of our pinky finger to the ball of our thumb on the same hand. Your hand needs to start at the “stop” signal with wide fingers. Your thumb isn’t allowed to move. The joint farthest out on the pinky can’t be bent, just the bottom can. Some people could do it with both hands; other’s couldn’t at all. If this makes sense, can you do it? Why would I be able to do it with my left hand and not my right? I am right-handed if that make any difference, but my friends are, too. Are the muscles used or trained different in each hand?

*Thanks, lifeoftheparty20

Your right hand might have stiffer joints and tendons which would make it harder to flex that hand. It may have more developed muscles which would make it harder to stretch as well. I can do it on both hands (just tried) and I believe it is from my tendency to crack my knuckles so much and stretch these muscles.
