Why does my mom & everyone get mad if I date a black guy ?

Okay this will be hard but you have to pick your family or him its going to be supper hard but I think its what you have to do if talking to them doesn’t work.

Who cares if your family does not approve? Will you let them rule you when you are an adult? Will you continue to let them judge who you love? Be rebellious! Love who you love, it’s the matter of your happiness, not theirs!

You do not have to pick between your family and him. Your parents are ignorant. Flat out. They just believe in old ways where color defines a person instead of who they really are. Just let your parents know that they are being racist. It isn’t a pretty thing to be accused of but they will figure it out once they hear it. I hate to have any family member judge because of race and I always get on to them for it and sure enough they straighten out. Let your parents know what they are doing and ask why color makes someone who they are. They won’t be able to answer. Then hopefully they will leave you alone and not be so judgmental.

They get mad because of all the stereotypes about black men! I’m Mexican and I’m dating a black guy (he’s half white, too), and I love him with all my heart! I’m young too, but I know I want to be with him forever.. I say you just listen to your heart! It’s not about making your family happy; it’s about making yourself happy. If you’re in love, you shouldn’t care about what others think.
