Why does a girl respond to/by texts not phonecalls?

I got this girls number that I really like after hanging out with some mutual friends and running into her a few times. She always responds by texts and we’ve texted eachother back and forth quite a few times, but she hasn’t phoned/answered her phone yet. I asked her out by text twice, since I haven’t been able to get ahold of her directly. She said yes the first time, but ended up having to work and had other plans the second time, but wanted to. I was hoping for a girls perspective here on the situation, what should I do? I’m stumped on this one, I’d usually have an idea where I’m at by now with someone, but I don’t at all.

Maybe she just doesnt have calling time on her phone. Some people have phone plans where they only pay for texting and that’s it.

It is easier to text then actually talk on the phone. There are no awkward silences. Unfortunately, you don’t have the advatage of emotion while texting and you cannot get a feel for the person. Call her, tell her you would love to talk to her just to get the date set up. Ask her to call you back because you love the sound of her voice.
