Who knows a lot about birds?

My mother has a Quaker parrot, a few years in age (maybe 7 at the most.) And this morning she fund him in the bottom of his cage not moving. He is alive but not making any noise either. There is no blood or any sign that anything fell on him or hit him. What should we do? We are currently hard on cash. Any suggestions?

Answer #1

did she cook with teflon pots lately because that will kill them same thing happend to my cacatils

Answer #2

@Dylan no different than usual. We always have and we’ve had him for all his life without complications. Teflon will only be bad if you burn it or the bird eats it.

Answer #3

Agreed with ichi. Head to the vet ASAP. This is not behavior that can be explained with ‘’He’s tired’’ or some other benign reason. Would you rather have a $100 vet bill or a dead parrot?

Answer #4

He’s was lying down. Thats what I’m thinking too. Thankfully she used to work at a pet store so she’s getting the opinion of the owner right now. I can’t find anything online about this. Everything says “ruffled feathers” but his aren’t

Answer #5

Yikes..

Is he laying down in the cage, or still standing?

I hate to say it, but this might require a vet.
